"Odd Anthem"has been generating a lot of buzz online in the month since its been released. Such as a 10 out of 10 in Unsigned & Independent Magazine, an "A" grade on the Unappreciated Scholars blog, a play on Chicago's best radio station WXRT, a 9 out of 10 from Record Rewind Play and it was picked as one of Noisetrade's new releases of the week. Plus many very positive reviews in the following publications (please click the name to view the article): Alternative Tracks, Insomnia Radio, Music Nut, Music is My Radar, Reverb Racoon, 50 Third & 3rd, Glacially Musical, New Music Fever (Q&A), Mytacism Music, Make it a Thing, NE:NM and international blogs Indie Pop-Ups (Denmark) and Art Music Satellite (Japan).

Static in Verona is releasing it's third album "Odd Anthem" on August 28th. Songwriter Rob Merz decided to take a different approach and instead of meticulously writing then recording the music, he started with very loose ideas and then experimented with the structure and instrumentation in the studio. This creative freedom opened the door to many new sounds and unexpected twists that may not have happened otherwise. Merz also focused on keeping the collection concise, catchy and upbeat to further engage the listener.
"Odd Anthem" is offically ready! Stay tuned for release information.

I just realized as I upload my annual "Best Music" list that I have not updated this site in a while. That is not due to lack of hard work, I just have been much more active on Twitter in 2014 than anywhere else (follow me at @staticinverona). Speaking of hard work, I'm actually 70% done with the follow-up album to 2014's Everything You Knew Before You Knew Everything, which since it came out in March 2014 is practically old news by now (FYI: Its currently available for FREE on Bandcamp). The new album will have 9-10 songs on it and I hope to release it mid-summer 2015.
Here's my picks for "Best Music of 2014":
1) Temples- Sun Structures
2) Beck- Morning Phase
