WXRT'S LOCAL ANESTHETIC RADIO SHOW (DJ Richard Milne)
This album caught my attention right off the bat. Pop music with a nice little twist.
ALTERNATIVE TRACKS (Artist of the Week)
The album is dreamy power pop weaving around an eclectic mixture of experimental, electronic and rock sound bursting with creativity and intrigue. A towering mass of sound build round an uplifting, emotively powerful choruses and epic arrangements. Put some time aside and listen to this stunning album all the way through, it will be the most enjoyable 50 minutes you will spend all day.

ABSOLUTE POWERPOP BLOG
Merz delves further in dream-pop, opening with the densely melodic "Bitter Branches" and following that with the percussion-heavy, vaguely electronic "Rosemary (Bury Me)" which still sports the hooks. But the sound here is summed up by the majestic "Friendly Fires" and its pop-friendly soundscapes. If you want to hear something a bit different that the usual power pop, but from an artist we know has the melodic bonafides, this one's a good investment.
POP THAT GOES CRUNCH BLOG
A wonderfully eclectic album of dreamy, often symphonic pop with occasional electronic flourishes. Merz' gorgeous vocals play off stunningly against the wall of sound.
THE MUSIC NEWS SITE
